It’s 4th of July, and we all know what that means: fireworks! There are all kinds of patriotic celebrations of Independence Day in Los Angeles, no matter which neighborhood you live in. Just like in other years, the LA skies will be lit up with bright colors from the beach to downtown. Whether you want to spend the day at the theme park or catch the show from the waterfront, here’s where to watch fireworks in Los Angeles this year.
1.The Hollywood Bowl
The iconic Hollywood Bowl as always will be hosting their annual fireworks show, and this year’s July 4th Fireworks Spectacular will feature a performance by The Beach Boys. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. 2301 N. Highland Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90068
2.Huntington Beach Pier
The City of Huntington Beach is bringing back its multi-day celebration, which includes a Pier Plaza Festival and a car parade, before culminating in an aerial acrobatics and fireworks show on the evening of July 4. The fireworks are visible around the area, but you can also book tickets to see them up close. If you prefer to watch it from the comfort of a dining table instead, you can book an outdoor table at Pacific Hideaway, the restaurant at Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel. 325 Pacific Coast Hwy, Huntington Beach, CA 92648
3. Marina Del Rey
Like previous years, Marina Del Rey will be shooting fireworks from the south jetty. You can view the 20-minute firework show for free from many spots in the surrounding area, including Burton Chace Park or Fisherman’s Village, or you can see them from the water by booking City Cruises. The fireworks draw a crowd every year, so plan on arriving very early (the city recommends arriving at 1 p.m.) or book a table at one of the waterfront restaurants in the area. Marina Beach, Marina del Rey, CA 90292
4.Rose Bowl Stadium
The Rose Bowl’s annual AmericaFest Celebration has unfortunately been canceled this year, but the fireworks will still be happening. Instead of AmericaFest, Rose Bowl Stadium will be hosting the rescheduled LA Galaxy vs. LAFC soccer match, which was originally supposed to take place on February 25 but was canceled due to the weather. After the rescheduled soccer match on July 4, there will be a firework show held on the golf course. 1001 Rose Bowl Dr, Pasadena, CA 91103
5. Hollywood Forever Cemetery
Cinespia’s movie night at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery is bringing back the movie screening and fireworks combo on Saturday, July 1. It promises to be a fun night with a screening of Tim Burton’s Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure followed by a firework show right after. The movie starts at 9 p.m. but gates open at 7:15 p.m. and there will be a DJ, concession stand, grill and a free photobooth. 6000 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038
