Sandra Mejia may be known as The Plant Chica, but her shop is much more than just her – it’s a family-run business that has grown with the help of her loved ones, a dedicated team, and the incredible community they serve. Raised in South Central LA by Salvadoran immigrant parents, Sandra spent her childhood helping her mom pick out flowers and plants for the church where her father was a pastor. Her love for plants bloomed early, passed down from her mother, and over time, Sandra saw the joy they brought to others.

After becoming a mother to her son, Alem, Sandra began The Plant Chica as a side project while working as a medical assistant. Plants, for her, have always symbolized family, and she dreamed of turning her passion into a family business. That dream is now a reality.
