“Why are you such a copycat?”: Ángela Aguilar accused of plagiarizing her new song “Nadie se va como llega”

Ángela Aguilar, a regional Mexican singer, has been heavily criticized since releasing her latest song, “Nadie se va como llega,” for allegedly plagiarizing the song by Jennifer Peña.

This whole thing started going viral on social media because users thought they’d already heard the song’s melody, so they began investigating until they found the alleged “source.”

This is how they found the song titled “Tuya,” by singer Jennifer Peña, who released this melody in 2007. She is a famous American singer-songwriter who was extremely popular for her love songs.

The truth is that this song has now been linked to the recent debut of Pepe Aguilar’s daughter, who has been accused on several occasions of basing her career on covers, as the setlist is the same at every concert.

After the mockery and criticism from detractors, Aguilar got down to work, completely changing her image and proceeding to compose something of her own, but this time it didn’t have the same reception as “Abrázame” or the duet she released with Yuridia.

Furthermore, the song is related to “Tuya,” which is why Christian Nodal’s wife is once again in the spotlight after claiming on social media that the tone of the melody sounds exactly the same as Peña’s, especially in the chorus.

Did Angela Aguilar plagiarize?

However, the lyrics are completely different because the American singer chose to sing about love with sweet verses where she talks about total dedication to a partner, as well as how in love she feels.

For her part, Ángela sang about heartbreak, but the truth is that her lyrics also received hate from audiences who complained that they didn’t understand anything she was saying, and that the message didn’t make sense to them.

The singer was also criticized for the gestures she used to create a trend where she made a gesture with her hands alluding to death, but this was seen as extremely aggressive and had nothing to do with what she was trying to communicate.

So far, the singer hasn’t commented on this, nor has the author of “Tuya,” who went viral for this unexpected act and comparison that arose after the premiere of “Nobody Leaves as They Arrived.”

In a video, a content creator even joked about the line from the song she wrote with her husband Nodal, where he asks her why she’s so “flirty,” but now they asked her: “Why are you such a copycat?”
