‘Albañil’ Who Ran Away for Eating Outside Asks to Ignore ‘The Gringo’

Jorge, the man who is currently viral for having an awkward moment with a foreigner, gave a lesson today by asking Mexicans not to lower themselves to the man’s level.

‘The Gringo,’ as he is known on social media, was caught abusing Jorge, who was eating after a day’s work, but the video simply outraged the population; now this is what the victim has revealed.

With profanity, ‘The Gringo’ Ran Away Mexican Bricklayer

In an interview with local news outlets, Mr. Jorge opened up about what happened that afternoon, when a homeowner came out to ask him to move away from the front of his house because he apparently was bothered by the sight of him eating there.

“I didn’t even know. I was sitting there. The man came and started attacking me, but he had already attacked some children who were sitting and working nearby. I had to stop and there was no way I could ignore him.”

However, despite the embarrassment he suffered at that moment, he expressed his gratitude for all the support he has received on social media, as well as the wave of invitations to gather to teach the foreigner a lesson by having a picnic, which did happen.

“Well, I never thought it would come to this. I really, really appreciate all the Mazatlecos. I’m from Mexico City. I spoke Spanish, swear words, I didn’t… it’s the first time it’s happened to me, it’s the first time I’ve gone down there to eat.”

‘Foreigner’ Always Chases Mexicans Away

He revealed that this person had previously acted in this way toward other coworkers and even toward children who were also using the same sidewalk to eat, but this man simply chased them away.

“They say he’s already chased other kids away, and they were unlucky enough to be there. Just like now, when I’m going to make my sacred meal after work, and I never expected that.”

He stated that he does feel nervous about everything that’s happened and the virality it’s gained on social platforms, but the truth is that he said he wasn’t aware of it until recently, since he barely interacts on these digital spaces after work.

“I feel kind of nervous. Honestly, I’ve never experienced anything like this. My video is circulating everywhere. I didn’t even know. Since I rarely go online, I come home from work, tired, (what I want is to rest), like all my coworkers.”
He noted that his colleagues have been very supportive of all this, but despite being urged to take action against this man, he asked them not to be violent because it was time to demonstrate that construction workers had more dignity and education than that foreigner.
