Stefany Hernandez: “We don’t need money to be part of the fashion world”

Stefany Hernández is an influencer fascinated by the world of travel. Her life had been wrapped up in that world, planning, researching, and discovering new places. However, recently, a new challenge has presented itself: the world of fashion.

“Alongside Stefany Hernandez, Rosario Ochoa, Jen Delara, and Annie Grijalva, they launched the first fashion show elevating Latinx talent in Napa Valley. Recently, they traveled to the New York Fashion Show to continue their journey in discovering this industry.”

“I haven’t forgotten the world of travel; I have a lot of content waiting. But lately, I’ve immersed myself in the world of fashion in this project that I love,” says Stefany. “I’m in a learning stage.”

For Stefany Hernandez, the world of fashion is very close to Latinos.

“You don’t need money to be part of this environment; you need to have style, and Latinos know a lot about that. We have style in dressing, we like to party, eat, drink,” she says.

From the beginning, this group of women seeks one thing: to make fashion an inclusive, not exclusive space, where all sizes and colors can be represented.

“We want to bring this experience to those who know nothing about fashion but want to learn, see, and experience what it’s all about. These initial experiences have left me very tired, but it’s worth it. The feedback we’ve received is very positive; people who had no idea have now approached us,” Stefany adds.

“Dressing is a way to express yourself, communicate. At the moment, High Fashion is not inclusive; we have to create those spaces for everyone,” she says.

This influencer mentions that this experience is not only about fashion but also about giving something to the community. In the past Napa Valley event, a percentage of the proceeds was donated to a non-profit called Mariposa, which helps Latina teenagers who have experienced domestic violence and self-esteem issues.

“It’s of no use if we don’t give something to the community; it’s about educating, sharing experiences, but also supporting what our people need,” she adds.

From now on, they are already starting to plan the next event in New York in February and then in September.

“There are many people who want to get closer, learn, live it. We are going to help them have that experience, and we will continue to organize our events to include more and more people,” says Stefany.
