Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum reiterated that authorities must have government plans for the possibility of mass deportations from the United States, even as bilateral dialogue efforts continue.

In this regard, she highlighted two main lines of action:

1. Strengthening Mexican Consulates in the United States: The foreign minister, in coordination with the consuls, will work on improving consular services, including the digitalization of procedures, personalized attention, and legal advice to protect fellow citizens. These initiatives will be presented in the coming days.

2. Reception and Reintegration Plans in Mexico: The Ministry of the Interior is coordinating a plan with governors of border states to ensure a dignified reception for fellow citizens in the event of deportations.

On the other hand, the head of the federal Executive stressed the importance of Mexican migrants for both economies, emphasizing their contributions in agriculture and other sectors of the economy in the neighboring country to the north.

Mass deportations? The courts could face delays and may take until 2040 at the current pace
