The fact is that Doña Carlota, an elderly woman, arrived at her property yesterday and opened fire on the squatters, killing two.
Yesterday, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico, in coordination with municipal police from Chicoloapan and Chimalhuacán, arrested three alleged perpetrators: the elderly woman Carlota “N”, Eduardo “N”, and Mariana “N”.
The image of Carlota “N” quickly became a trending topic, generating a wave of reactions among internet users.
Many users shared images and comments about the incident, while others went further and created a corrido inspired by the events.
The song, which began circulating, narrates the moment the elderly woman shot the family, as well as the reasons that supposedly led her to act that way.
Users have created images of the situation with the help of AI.
Artificial Intelligence was even used to create images based on the attack by Carlota “N” carrying a firearm, which read “My grandma when she finds out you got me excited,” “My grandma coming to visit on Holy Saturday,” “My grandma when she gets angry.”
Not only in images, users created businesses for lawyers and actuaries with the slogan “Evictions Doña Carlota.”
The imagination of social media users led to the creation of a corrido, “El corrido de Doña Carlota,” which tells the story of how the woman apparently defended her property and shot three people.
The lyrics of the corrido say: “An angry grandmother went to get rid of the thugs. They invaded her house. The grandmother wanted justice, and carrying a squadron in her hand, the news went viral.”
“Today, all the social media shows that things are tough in Chalco. If you’re too clever, the grandmother in pink will shoot,” the corrido says.
“Today, our authorities are publicizing their achievement in a big way: they caught Carlota.”
“Of the thugs we’re talking about, the lady in pink sent only two to sleep and the others to their little house. This corrido, gentlemen, is for Mrs. Carlota, a grandmother who has balls, unlike others in the fleet.”
The incident has divided commentary, with some supporting the woman’s actions and others believing that nothing justifies violence.
