On April 1, a shocking event shook the municipality of Chalco, State of Mexico. Carlota “N,” a 74-year-old woman, was captured on video shooting at a group of people inside a building.
As a result, two people lost their lives and a 14-year-old boy was injured. The attacker was arrested the next day and currently faces legal proceedings.
According to the official version, Carlota “N” and her companions arrived at a home in the Ex Hacienda de Guadalupe Housing Unit, claiming that the property belonged to them. However, the occupants of the building claimed they had a valid lease. What began as an argument soon escalated into tragedy.
A video circulating on social media shows the moment Carlota “N” arrives at the home in a gray Ford Fiesta. Accompanied by a gunman and another woman, the attacker gets out of the car and points a gun at the residents of the house.
The images show the moment she shoots a man in the yard. A teenager tries to help him, but is also hit by bullets. While those present try to defend themselves and struggle with the attackers, Carlota “N” and her companions manage to flee.
THE VICTIMS
The deceased were identified as:
• Justin Márquez Torres, 19.
• Esau Márquez Cortillo, 51, who was shot in the chest.
• The 14-year-old boy, who was wounded in both legs, was taken to Chalco General Hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.
MEN KILLED BY DOÑA CARLOTA, THE GRANDMOTHER HITMAN FROM CHALCO, WERE ARMED ON SOCIAL MEDIA
The men killed by Carlota, a 74-year-old woman arrested on Wednesday, April 2, by members of the State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office, were armed on social media and claimed to be part of a group of armed groups calling themselves Syndicate 22.
The two victims, a man and his teenage son, died after being shot by the elderly woman and her family last Tuesday, April 1. This incident was recorded on video and shared on social media, where it quickly went viral when people began calling Carlota the “grandmother hitman.”
Carlota “N” is being investigated for her probable involvement in the events that occurred last Tuesday, April 1, “which caused the deaths of a man and a teenager in the municipality of Chalco, related to the possession of a property,” according to information from the FGEM.
Carlota and her family went to the Ex Hacienda de Guadalupe Housing Unit in Tlapala, part of the municipality of Chalco, where the people she attacked with bullets were allegedly living illegally after having invaded an apartment belonging to Carlota’s grandmother.
Eduardo and Mariana, two of Carlota’s relatives, were also arrested on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 2, as they accompanied the woman to attack the alleged invaders of her property. According to initial reports from relatives of those arrested, the elderly woman had reported these individuals.
Farewell to victims of Chalco shooting of grandmother
Residents of the municipality of Chalco reported that the two men killed by Carlota were said goodbye at a funeral where their relatives fired gunshots into the air. The situation caused fear among those who heard the shots.
