Pepe breaks silence after fake video suggests feud with Mexico’s president over daughter Ángela.
In the past few hours, Pepe Aguilar‘s name trended across social media platforms after a video went viral allegedly showing the singer criticizing Mexico’s president, Claudia Sheinbaum, over issues related to his daughter, Ángela Aguilar.
The video sparked a wave of reactions, speculations, and controversy, igniting online debates and triggering heated exchanges among users. However, in response to the uproar, Pepe Aguilar took to his official Instagram account to clear the air and categorically deny making any offensive or disrespectful remarks toward the president.
“I have never spoken ill of the president, nor of anyone in that tone. The video circulating is edited and taken out of context,” said Aguilar in a series of Instagram Stories and a post.
The singer clarified that the viral clip came from an old live broadcast where he spoke about personal and entertainment industry matters, but never referenced or criticized Sheinbaum or her administration. He reaffirmed his respect for institutions and urged people not to fall for manipulated content.
“With surprise and concern, I saw a video generated with Artificial Intelligence pretending to be me, in which offensive comments are made about President Claudia Sheinbaum. That’s why I felt the need to clarify that it is false,” Aguilar explained.
Pepe Aguilar—father of Ángela Aguilar and son of the late legends Flor Silvestre and Antonio Aguilar—emphasized that the videos circulating on social media that supposedly show him speaking poorly of the president are completely fake.
“Why would I go around saying anything about the president? I respect the lady, and I respect the work she’s doing. I think it’s great that we have someone with the capacity and seriousness to tackle the country’s huge problems right from the start,” he added.
Ángela Aguilar, Pepe’s daughter, has also been a victim of AI-generated content manipulation. Fabricated audios allegedly featured her speaking against Belinda and Cazzu, former partners of her current husband, Christian Nodal.
At the time, Ángela Aguilar denied the claims:
“Those songs and audios were created using AI tools without my permission or participation. I deeply appreciate everyone who has shown their support and affection. I continue working wholeheartedly on what I love most: music,” she said.
The video referenced by Pepe Aguilar—which went viral on social media—falsely claims that during a presidential press conference, Claudia Sheinbaum declared she would no longer tolerate the Aguilar family in Mexico:
“We no longer tolerate the Aguilar family. None of them should set foot in Mexico, at least not during my presidency. Ángela Aguilar is a disrespect, and that’s why I’ll make the difficult decision to expel her from the country.”
In response, the AI-generated Pepe allegedly said:
“I don’t give a damn about threats. Sheinbaum doesn’t know who she’s messing with…”
Ángela Aguilar, according to the same fake video, added:
“I don’t think Sheinbaum has the authority to kick me out of the country. She’d be hanging herself by messing with the Aguilars.”
