Six families of migrants living in the United States were robbed of their vehicles by armed individuals, when they returned to Zacatecas to visit their relatives during the holidays. The alleged criminals also took two people, police sources reported.
It was noted that a total of 35 travelers from Texas and California – including men, women, children and the elderly – were abandoned on the side of Federal Highway 45, in different sections, between the cities of Zacatecas and Sombrerete, approximately 8 to 9 p.m. this Saturday.
The area is included within the Winter Operation 2022 of the Héroes Paisanos Program, implemented by the National Institute of Migration and the Federal Public Security Secretariat, in coordination with state authorities, to provide “comprehensive care” to compatriots who visit their places of residence. origin on these dates.
The subjects, who carried high-caliber rifles – presumed members of organized crime – traveled in four vehicles and before leaving the travelers on the side of the road, they also stripped them of their personal belongings.
One of the families had their truck stolen when it was at the MorfÃn Chávez tollbooth, in the municipality of Fresnillo, a module that was partially set on fire two weeks ago by criminal groups, very close to the military base where it has its headquarters. Around noon, it was reported that in the vicinity of the community of La Luz, in the mountain area of Fresnillo, two of the six cars that the criminals took away were located; in the afternoon, police actions intensified towards the Sierra de Jerez and ValparaÃso.
